about

Side A - Elina Tapio
Side B - Hannah Pezzack

For the first release on Tomorrow Will Be Worse, Amsterdam based DJ's Hannah Pezzack & Elina Tapio present two forty-five minute mixes exploring experimental sounds familiar to those of their radio broadcasts on Mutant Radio Tbilisi.

'The twist of a fern frond. Concentric circles of seeds inside a sunflower head. From the swirl of a nautilus shell to cresting waves and the intricacy of spiderwebs, the Fibonacci or golden spiral is ubiquitous in nature. Its sequence denotes an eerie symmetry; an orderly numerology that permeates evolutionary growth and the self-renewal of cells. Early electronica artists such as George Gershwin and Delia Derbyshire drew inspiration from its formulaic composition, producing avant-garde scores that followed its rubric of each number being the sum of the two preceding ones. Yet to spiral might also mean to lose control, to veer off course or unravel completely. It can refer to a dark state of mind – a worsening of circumstances or detaching from reality. Exploring the spiral's double meaning, Elina Tapio and Hannah Pezzack present a two-fold cassette mix released by Tomorrow Will Be Worse.'
